It’s been a minute since my last post—life’s been a whirlwind of yarn, stitches, and a few exciting new ventures!

Lately, I’ve been immersed in two afghan projects that have kept my crochet hook working overtime. The first was a special request from my mom, who needed something cozy and beautiful to cover her well-loved loveseat. After a few days of pattern and color brainstorming, we landed on Lavinia’s Blossom. Originally designed as a baby blanket, the texture won her heart, so I adjusted the stitch count to fit her loveseat—and off I went! It’s always a joy to turn a pattern into something uniquely functional.

Now I’m deep into a classic double-crochet Chevron afghan for my nephew’s Christmas gift (SHHHHH!). He sent over a photo of his living room, and I pulled colors from my stash that matched his carpet and couch. I’m eight days in and making great progress—this one should be wrapped up soon (figuratively and literally!).

🧵 On the sewing front, I’ve been reorganizing my crafting space and welcoming a new addition: a sewing machine! I’ve been eyeing those crochet bags with zipper liners and decided it was time to dive in. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was little, so it’s been a nostalgic and rewarding experience relearning the ropes. Between crochet and sewing, my creative plate is definitely full.

🚢 We’ve got a cruise coming up, so I’ll be offline for a bit. But once I’m back, it’s full steam ahead on some Pride-themed creations! Atlanta Pride is in October, and last year’s scarf was a huge hit. I’m hoping to have a few new pieces ready in case anyone’s interested in snagging something festive and handmade.

So yes—my hands are happily full through the end of the year. I’ll do my best to share updates and finished projects as they come together. Until then, keep hooking and stay inspired!
