A couple of weeks ago, while organizing my yarn stash, I came across a beautiful mix of greens and golds that instantly caught my eye. The color combination felt warm, earthy, and perfect for a new project. At the same time, I couldn’t stop thinking about the surge of granny square bags popping up everywhere lately—classic, nostalgic, and totally on-trend.

Inspired, I decided to create my own version of a granny square crochet bag. I didn’t follow a written pattern for this one—just worked from visual inspiration and let the design evolve naturally as I went. The result is a unique, handcrafted bag featuring a blend of traditional granny square motifs and a cohesive color palette that feels both modern and timeless.

Once the crochet construction was complete, I wanted to take it a step further. I visited my local craft reuse store and found the perfect gold fabric to line the interior. Adding a fabric lining not only enhances the durability of the bag but also gives it a polished, finished look while staying true to my love for upcycled and sustainable materials. I even added an inside pocket from an old pair of corduroy jeans!

This crochet bag is lightweight, functional, and perfect for everyday use—whether you’re heading to the market, running errands, or just want a stylish handmade accessory.
✨ This one-of-a-kind granny square bag will be available soon in my Etsy shop, so stay tuned!
