Sometimes, you just need a project that’s purely for yourself—and this was one of those moments. I decided it was time for a little “me” crafting, so I dove into my yarn stash to see what treasures I could unearth. That’s when I rediscovered some Lion Brand Jiffy yarn, a soft and snuggly favorite from past projects. I even had a few extra skeins I’d snagged during JoAnn’s closeout sales (who can resist a good yarn deal?).

This yarn is a dream to work with—light, fluffy, and perfect for cozy creations. Naturally, I knew it had to become a blanket. I went with the Riverbed Blanket pattern, which holds a special place in my heart. It was the very first tutorial I stumbled upon on YouTube when I picked up my crochet hook again in 2024.

The pattern worked up beautifully, and I was able to finish the entire blanket in under two weeks. In total, it took just 13 hours to complete! Now I’ve got a new fall/winter staple that’s ready to keep me warm during those crisp evenings. There’s nothing quite like wrapping yourself in something handmade, especially when it’s crafted with comfort and care.
