Last year, I kept seeing the Granny Square Card Deck pop up on social media, and I couldn’t resist getting one for myself. I set a goal for 2025: to complete one granny square each week and then turn them into a gorgeous afghan by the end of the year.
How Am I Doing?
So, how’s it going? Pretty well, actually! We’re in Week 9, and I’m ahead of schedule—I just finished #12 today. Here’s a look at what I’ve accomplished so far:

I’m a BIG fan!
I’ve always been a fan of a good granny square, and this journey has been both fun and educational! One of the biggest challenges I’ve tackled so far is learning how to read a crochet diagram—it’s a bit awkward at first, especially since I am left handed, but I’m getting the hang of it. I think I’ve worked my way through all the basic designs, which means the real challenge begins now. From here on out, the patterns only get more intricate and complex—but I’m ready for it!
Wish me luck!
